Direct hire a foreign domestic helper

Hi all,


I have found myself a suitable domestic helper, she has worked as a domestic helper before in Taiwan but not HK.


Was wondering if anyone would share their experiences and knowledge in direct hiring a foreign domestic helper? Did you fly solo? Or did you go through an agency?

We are going through direct hire ourselves. The helper we are currently hiring has liived in HK for 2 years and is now back in the PH. We have decided to save some money and do the hiring and paperwork ourselves. It has been a few trips down to the PH Consulate, but now we are waiting for the visa to be done. It is easy enough to do yourselves.
