Does anyone know how to go about taking your current DM to the US with you and hiring her on to work for you in the US? I know you can get a tourist visa in HK - for travel to US. But.. what kind of visa do you apply for, so that they might work for you in the US on a more permanent basis? Thanks in advance!

My understanding is that it is only allowed if you yourself are not a US citizen (i.e. will be an expat in the US) and you have had your maid for 1year +. Then the process involves a lot of forms and some face to face interviews.


I know of some one who did this only to have the maid of 3 years standing to whom they had been very very generous abscond in the first week!
