Hi,
I'm just about to begin the process of applying for visa etc for a new DH contract. Now the 'fun' begins... as this is my first DH contract any tips on how to stay sane during the application process would be greatly appreciated. We have hired a DH whose contract was terminated (mutually agreed). I've visited the Phil. consulate website but am still not sure what forms need filling in. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How about asking your new DH if she knows the procedure? My DH is very experienced when she came to us and she got all the paperwork from the Consulate herself and came over at our place and both my husband and her filled up all the forms. thereafter they went to Consulate together as we were told it would speed up the processing and ease the problem that our DH had as she too didn't finish her previous contract (Consulate doesn't favour DHs who don't finish contracts). With my husband present, the officials were assured and it took only 3 days for Consulate to approve. Thereafter, my husband went to HK immigration to sumit other paperwork and approval letter frm Consulate himself. This took 6 weeks, and I did call immigration twice, left my name, to ensure they haven;'t forgotten about us.

I think the charge is about 2500 but I thought that was inclusive of all phil. cons. and HK immigration fees ++, can anyone confirm this? Green, I agree that DIY would be better and mummybee1 does make it seem rather easy. The problem is I have this week to organise it and then I return to work on Monday and my employer is not very appreciative of staff taking leave for personal 'issues'. My husband is an invalid so everything is up to me. probably too much info here but I don't want to appear lazy.

Don’t expect to save money if you do all the paperwork. On the contrary, it may cost you more than if you hire through an agency. Here are the expenses (approx):
Phil Consulate fees -- 500
Immigration visa—165
Certificate from Phil (not sure how it’s called) – 200
Air ticket (one way) – 1.000-2.000 (depending where she is from in Phil)
Transport from airport (train) -- 100
Medical examination (I’m sure you’ll want it) – 700
Medical insurance – 600
Total: HK$ 3.265-4.265
Plus your time, plus money for your transport, plus waiting in the queues plus no free replacement if things don’t work out between you.
If you are concerned that an agency will take a lot of money from her, go with the one that doesn't charge helpers a lot. There are such. But I think they will deal with "finished contract" more eagerly than with "terminated". I'm not sure, check it.

Just an update as I promised. Very happy with Agency service, they did everything at a very good price, all I had to do was go in to sign papers, all forms were filled in by Agency in my presence, can recommend if you send a PM. Helper arrives tomorrow. I'm smiling......

Hi I just process of applying for visa my maid Phil.
No Need agency you can save your monny ,you just go consolate firts bring you biling address and you income than your ID Card.But remmber you need go to Imigrasi to pic up the Contract .after finis the consulate will ask you bring Ticket if you maid need go to phil.you just can buy the voucher only for $100 .to [pic up the contract from phil consulate you need to pay only $298 .
no need $1000.is very easy .good luck
