We will be leaving HK at the end of 2012 or early 2013 and more than likely will come back to HK 3 yrs from then so in 2016/17. I wonder if there is anyone who has had any experience with taking their helper with them to live. We will return to the UK.
Errr does your helper wanan go with you? And also if you take her to UK - don't you have to comply with UK salary / insurance / labor rules?
Don't think you can sponsor visa for domestic help
I would not be asking if she did not want to go! If you cant give sensible and non sarcastic advice then please dont bother. Actually we can take domestic helper to UK I have checked with the government in UK already and yes you have to comply with wages laws of course.....................
Quintin I can't help with your question but I do understand what you mean (I would not be asking if she did not want to go!), just ignore the rude posts, there are a cohort of people on this forum who take the opportunity to be unkind to others under the veil of anonymity, whilst the original idea behind these forums is supposed to be robust discussion and information sharing.
Thanks lagrue and I agree. I won't even comment on the other posts it is pointless.
I hear the law has changed on 4 th April this year and you can now only take your helper for 6 months to the Uk. I suggest you contact the British Consulate to confirm this.
