We have a wonderful helper, A., who is moving to the US shortly. Her visa has been approved, and she is just waiting for it to arrive in HK for final processing. She expects that will be by the end of July. In the meantime, we have met another helper, T., whose employer will be moving to the US in the middle of July. She is a lovely woman and we think that she would be a good fit for our family. So the problem here is the timing of terminating A's contract and entering into a new contract with T. We will not terminate A's contract until she is 100% sure that her visa is in order.
I am reading up on this and am going to call Immigration tomorrow to discuss this but would also like to hear of other similar experiences. If it is possible, we are willing to sign a contract with T and have two helpers until A is clear to leave for the US, as this would likely just be for a few weeks. Most importantly, I don't want to make any mistakes that would compromise either A's or T's visas or otherwise unintentionally hurt them.
Thank you for any advice.
