Has anyone renewed their indonesian maid's employment contract without having to go through an agent?


Also maid's passport will expire in a few month's time - how do they go about renewing their passport?


Would appreciate advice.

Sorry to inform you but that is not possible. You must renew through a Indonesian - consulate approved agency. Even if you show up at the consulate yourself with the paper work they will absolutely not see you. Of course the approved agencies will charge the helper more than the legal fee... from what I hear the lowest anyone ever gets away with is 3k and I have heard of some being forced to pay over 12k (it should be 10% of a month salary)

Wow, that is very unfair on the maid. What about via AsiaXpat or do you just service for Filipino maids.
