Could anyone tell me what paperwork i have to fill in and the cost etc. for hiring a new full-time helper who's already in HK, as i don't want to go through an agency again?
I gave my current DH 1 months notice, where she'll get her 1 months pay and a one-way ticket home, do i need to do anything else?

Seems like you have done all you have to for the sacked helper.
For the immig process, call the Immig dept or check their website out. You will get all the details & list of documents you need to have. Also, when you put your maids papers in, put a request ( in letter) to Immig. to treat your case as URGENT, as you need your DH ASAP.
You do not need an agency to do your paperwork, take your helper, all her documents & get ready to spend a day at Immig...

Mea normally if you hire a helper who is already in Hong Kong, you can let her do the processing by herself, you just have to make sure that you gave her all the documents that immigration asking, when you go to immigration tower in wanchai and ask for a DH contract, they will give you a booklet with all the informations you need. Have found one but not sure if she will be approved to process, as her last employer terminated due to financial problems. An Immigration officer told me that it's easier to start the process for applying for a new maid if they have finished their contract.
