Using a maid agency will not solve your problem. If you use an agency all they do is send over helpers than they think match your requirements and charge you a fee for doing this - thats as far as their service goes.
You can avoid the fees and use our domestic to decide which helpers you want to interview.
Having had 2 filipino helpers in less than two years who were both unsatisfactory, I would not employ another without speaking to the previous employer, certainly not if I had young children. My last one, has advertised her services on this website stating she is honest and hardworking, which she most certainly is not, needless to say she is not offering me as a reference.In my opinion not speaking to their last employer, would be very foolish indeed.
