I know this forum is for HK but I couldnt get much info in Singapore forum....
We are moving to Singapore from Australia soon and we have 2 toddlers who will attend school right in the city. So where is the best place to live (not far from the school) and what is the procedure to hire a maid?

Thanks Angel. Do you need to go thro an agency to hire a DH? I checked asiaxpat's DH and all of them are advertised by agencies.

If its your first time in Singapore then i think that its better for you to use an agency, they can explain it for you what are the things needed to hire an DH.

There is a section on AsiaXPAT Singapore with plenty of helpers listed

But Ed, all those DH are listed by agencies, not by the DH themselves unlike in the HK section. So I have to contact the agent which I want to avoid.
Ed, how come in Singapore DH agencies are allowed to advertise DH on asiaxpat while in HK you can contact the DH directly and now even at asiaxpat you can get all the paperwork done which cut off those greedy agencies which rip off those DH?
