How much "taxi money" for a short trial?

I am planning on asking a few helpers that I have interviewed to come back for a trial. I know it is illegal for a helper to do any part-time work, so I don't want to get anyone in trouble. On the other hand, I want to assess the helper's work quality and abilities before extending an offer.

For a 3-hour trial, how much "taxi money" would you give? If it matters, I am planning on offering a contract with the minimum wage.

Thanks.

$50 for the entire time. Don't tell them ahead of time; it's a nice surprise at the end of the trial.

hate to say this but, why would you ask "how much taxi money should i give"?

When your spouse goes on a buisness trip, does the company (or perspective employer) ask.. "how much money should I reimburse the candidate I just interviewed"? Or am I missing something here?

Life, yes, you are missing something.

No problem though because RiceT and TC understood my question.
