Can any one answer any of the following questions.


DH has been working for 2 months (started contract) but have since found out that she is 3 months pregnant. What are the employers responsibilities.


If she is kept on does the employer have to pay the medical costs in regards to the pregnancy??

She obviously gets 10 weeks maternity leave.

Does the employer have to pay for a return ticket to the Philippines??


Also is the DH in breach of the contract as she was pregnant at the time of starting work?

Is this not a case of misleading information? Should the helper not have told her employer before the contract was signed.

I just came from the Philippines and being hired from an agency. I was asked to have my pregnancy test before my departure. What I mean here is if the helper is from the Philippines there was fraud in her medical. But if from here, then its a lesson to all to let the helper have her medical check up.TC was right.Read the site he/she gave you.

Maybe she didn't know she was pregnant until she started working?? It is possible being only 1 month into the pregnancy when she started. Or maybe she did deceive you....

Hi fairybell!

You poor thing! Yikes. Do you think this happened when she went on homeleave? This is my nightmare...I would imagine that you are not responsible legally since she had already conceived before you hired her. But of course whether or not you feel responsible depends on you!

Thanks for all your replies guys/girls much appreciated. I have a very strong feeling that this hasnt happened on purpose and that she is very honest. Has already said that she will understand if the contract is terminated....

Again thanks to all on the site and for those who know me it is not my helper, thank goodness but an extremely close friends
