we have employed our dh for 2 months now and i find i can not get comfortable with her in my house. i am an at home mum so can be around during the day we got our dh to help me out because my husband travels alot. we previously had a parttime dh who i adored but could not go full time. this new lady is great at her job but we don't seem to be comfortable in each others presence. my children are 7 and 5 and at school during the day and our dh seems to have a lot of spare time which i don't have a problem with but i'm almost at the point where i want my house back and i can live without the dh. where does this leave me as far as my obligations to her employment. any advice would be appreciated.

am i being ridiculous this whole dh thing is very new to me and i thought i would get used to it but it just doesn't feel right. i'd rather do my own cleaning but i do feel bad for the dh because she really has not done anything wrong

Kell - some people can do it -some can't - I cannot have a live in helper and the only way I survived having a FT live out helper was that I was at work during the week - she used to get Saturdays off as well because I couldn't stand to have her around in my house when i was here - same with when I had days off when my kids were sick.
Once I gave up my job - she lost hers - simply because I didn't want to share the space with her and it was my house.
Another other option is for you to get really busy in the day time so you don't seem much of her.
Something else is to get a partime from the legal part time people on asia expat, and then a reliable babysitter (maybe there is a 16 year old girl who could do it...where are you - I have a 16 year old reliable and excellent babysitter who is always looking for ways of making money!) for the times you go out together or by yourself.
It is your life and you need to be happy.
