When can I get my unused levy back?

My current helper will be prematurely terminated on 14 Jan 06. Actually, I wanted her to work until 24 of Jan 06 as the replacement helper is expected to start on 25 of Jan 06. However, I was told by my agency that since my current helper's next levy instalment will be due on 15 Jan 06, I would be required to pay the levy of $2,400 if she is still under my contract after 14 Jan 06. And the unused portion of levy cannot be carried forward to offset the second instalment due on the replacement helper.

My replacement helper has just finished her contract and expect to get her visa renewed on around 12 of Jan. She will then return home for a short holiday and come back to start my contract, which we expect on 25 of Jan 06. Is it true that I can't get my unused levy back if my outgoing helper works beyond 14 of Jan 06? Any comments will be appreciated.

As long as you replace your helper within four months the levy is transferable. All the best.

You have to release the 1st DH & then transfer the lavy to the next DH within 4 months. If you get the new DH before the first one is released you cannot transfer the levy & the money is lost.

Hope this has helped!
