How much should we pay someone for an hours ironing?

For ironing it would be best to pay piece work - as what you consider to be one hours work may stretch out to 2 or three......


In the UK the going rates are :

10 pounds for a black bin liner full of clothes

or 25p per item

or 70p per item. (depending on the company)


In europe the going rate is 2 euros per shirt.


That will give you an idea of where you can start negotiations from.

For ironing, better to go by piecework or by bulk--say 15-18 pieces of business shirts should be ironed neatly in 2hours. $60/hour I think is fair.
