What to do with helper when we travel.

Our helper is relatively new....been with us abt 6 weeks now. We will be returning to the UK on holiday in July for a month and would have loved for her to go with us but she cant get visa cos she been with us for such a short time. Do you think it would be ok if I gave her a ticket and asked her to go back to Manila for abt 3 weeks? I dont really want her to be here in my home as I would worry abt what she could get upto and definitely dont want her throwing parties or hving sleepovers in my home. So I was thinking I would pay for her trip and obviously still pay her her salary but let her go and come back like in 3 weeks so shes here for a couple days b4 we get back and can do some cleaning and get the groceries and stuff organised b4 we arrive? Am I asking for too much???

I am sure she would welcome this opportunity for a paid holiday home, and it wouldn't be asking too much of her - the questions is - is it asking too much of you?? Will she expect this to happen every June?? You need to let her know it is a once off deal. You also need to trust her to do the right thing when you are not there with regard to respecting your home. Maybe it would be easier and cheaper to tell her the rules, and that you expect her to follow your wishes or she is out of a job.

i will do the same with mine in july. but for two weeks. i think it's a nice thing to do if you can't take her with you. if i were you i would have a think about putting it in writing that this is her official holiday though. anyway it's your personal feeling that counts. do wht you think is right for you.

Thanks Dimac. The thing is im sure in time i will be and will have to trust her but its just that right now it is all too new. So just this one off time plus Im sure in the future once she has enought proof to show she has worked with us we shud be able to get her visas and let her travel with us.
