We have finally got our maid to fess up to her wrongdoings.
We will be issuing her with a warning letter soon and I just want to be prepared should the worse happens.
Because of the seriousness of her misconduct, I have a inkling that she's gonna refuse to sign despite her verbal admission as it is a big offence for her to acknowledge on paper. How should I tackle this?

I would ask someone from your management office (if you have one) to come and witness you giving her the letter, they could them sign a statement to the fact. We had to do this once when terminating a helpers contract.

Presumably you're offering her the letter as a kind alternative to simply firing her. So if she doesn't sign, just fire her. Or am I missing something?

I agree with Burgundy...no sign, no job - easy as pie! Or could that be construed as intimidation and bullying? Are there any laws on this? I would have a witness hear her confess to the crimes, have that person sign a declaration that the maid did verbally confess, and willingly signed the warning letter so if when you do fire her in a few months, she cannot go running to the authorities and accuse you of innapropriate conduct, forcing her to sign and confess under torture or something else over this matter.
