being an inexperienced employer in terms of this.

maid contract is up,we are renewing her.so her request were one months' leave and a return tix to her hometown whc is going to cost us at least hk 2500 to 3000,instead the usual hk/mnl hk1600.

how generous will you be in this situation?should i agree to her request ,cant decid on this.

Well the contract is clear on both items. 1.She is only entitled to 14 days leave. 2. You are supposed to returned her to the home address as written on the contract, this can be done via flight and then bus, it doesn't require a direct flight.


Anything above that is exgratia. How many employers do you know who will double the annual leave at their cost?

well that depends on how good she is. if she was hardworking and been good then i wud grant her the one month. after all they leave their families to come work here and really what is two weeks. its nothing. u can do it 2 ways. gv her the 1 mth paid leave or else gv her the due 2 weeks and tell her the rest will be unpaid leave. i find when they hv good vacation they come back fresh and happier and ready to start work. also which airlines r u using for her ticket. cos i just bought mine one for the summer when we r travelling. it costs 770 from hkg/mnl and then another 650 from manila to her hometown. yr travel agents pricing seems quite steep. also the airline i used is cebu pacific. check it out!

i understand that i could even add new terms into the contract,could someone enlighten me what 'new terms' have you added or change from prev contract?
