Pretermination of contract

Hi

I am terminating my helper after less than one year of her service (we do not need her service anymore). I had already found her a new employer. Now she told me that since she only had worked for her previous employer for 7 months, and if this time she doesn't work for one year, she cannot work for the new employer (who is my friend). Has anyone heard of this? I tried to look for any relevant information on this from the Philippine Consulate and Immigration Department and there is no information on this "requirement". I am not intended to keep her for one more month to make it up to 1 year as it means that I have to pay another installment of levy and seriously I don't think she will have the heart to work for me, given the fact that she is already going to work for someone else.

Where'd she get the idea? NO, it's not true. If you terminate her contract, then she can start working for her new employer once all paper works are done. She'll have to go back to place of origin though and processing could take 4 - 6 weeks.
