Another story:
Single male expat - very exacting in what he wanted and how he wanted it (eg shirts had to be ironed in exact order, like nanny did) - got home after work to find his DH was missing and there was a note from her on the table.
In the note she said she couldn't stand working for him and his impossibly high standards, that she was leaving him and not to bother with any outstanding wages as she wanted nothing more to do with him and she had just won the first prize in the Mark 6.
The single male expat was gutted as he had spent all that time 'training' her and he was left stranded. He had to stay in a hotel till he could find a replacement.
Ok, not that funny unless you were there and saw him spitting mad during a "how dare she abandon me" fit.

yeah, I was wondering that too Miss P.
Claire.. I hope she DID win the prize. We never hear from people who win the prize.

inkon> Apparently she did, the SME checked with other DHs in the building. According to them, she was on the first flight home after collecting the money. Nice when a story has a happy ending, isn't it...

Oh seriously - what would you do? Ok, she should have left him a month's wages as per contract but still...great story!
