Whats the point?

I've just started using someone PT (twice a wk) for general cleaning...no laundry, no cooking, no heavy duty chores.


I'm only using her for a short time, just to help me out since I'm pregnant and it's getting harder for me to handle the chores.


She's only cleaned for me a short times, but already I can see she's not doing a very good job.


It's little stuff that annoys me. Like forgeting to take the trash out even though it's sitting by the front door, not wiping down the kitchen counter that is covered in sticky fruit drippings & food bits etc, mopping the whole house except the bathrooms & kitchen, vacuuming the bathrooms without bothering to turn the lights on. (?) etc...


I don't have the patience to point out the obvious over & over. It's frustrating, & in the end I'd rather do it myself.



I can't help but wonder (after reading so many negative posts)..Whats the point? Seriously


Oh, and the first time she cleaned for me, I told her if she got thirsty to help herself to a glass of water. So she did.


The second time she came to clean she again asked if she could have some water. Sure no problem. But then she proceeded to pour the entire contents of my bottled water into her empty plastic bottle she brought.


What's up with that? Already she wants to takes advantage of me

There are plenty of people who will do a good job for you - get rid of this one and find someone else.

Agree. She's only part-time so she obviously has other work. For part-time I would expect proper cleaning - that is different from someone looking after children and trying to keep up with the housework at the same time. Frankly I would pay a tiny bit extra and use one of the agencies advertised here.

I had two p-t helpers - both terrible, just put everything into piles and never actually cleaned anything. One had an abusive boyfriend and we had to go round at midnight one night when he was out and help her move out all her stuff (of course the stupid woman went straight back), and the second one was always borrowing money for things like her father having a leg amputated. Go for an agency...
