Basically, her contract finishes in August so the living arrangements after then are not your concern - unless she is a fantastic DH and you want to renew the contract. She wants to give birht in HK - that's fine, she can use the government hospitals for check-ups and the birth itself (incidentally you are legally required to give her paid time off to attend all ante-natal check-ups). You can't fire her while she's pregnant (which would be illegal as well as unethical), and you can't make her do anything too physically demanding either.

From this and other posts you make you do seem to have some strange ideas about DH's and how they should be treated-
Why would anyone legally employed (as this DH is) have to be deported (paid for by the employer??) for having a baby?!!
Deportation is something carried out by a government when someone breaks the law!
I certainly wasnt deported by my Hong Kong employer (or the government) when I had a baby in Hong Kong!!

My helper choose to go home to have her baby but prior to leaving us she had all of her medical checks at public hospitals which did take a few hours at a time. The cost was quite low and we paid for all of her medical.
I'd contact the labour department, they are so helpful and will direct you as to exactly what you must do.

Miss P. We had a similar situation to you, our helper wanted to have her baby here rather than the Philippines because he thought it would be cheaper here was the explanation given. Her idea was that they, her and bubs would live in a boarding house and then an aunt would come and take the baby back. We spoke to the immmigration department and the only place a helper can legally reside in HK including during her maternity leave is at your home. Realisticlly we felt this left us also reponsible for her baby, you are hardly going to evict the baby. After another chat mostly us convincing her we had no intention of sacking her she decided to have the baby in the philippines. We paid her maternity leave same as my company would have to pay me, 10 weeks 80% pay. While on leave I had several phone calls asking if she could come back early which I resisted as we wanted to give her a chance to spend as much time as poss with her baby in what must be a really awful situation for her. I think however there was an enormous amount of presuure from her family to get back to work and concern that she would loose her job. Illeagal as it may be many do loose there jobs in this situation.

Don't know what the intention was, but to give foolonahill the benefit of the doubt maybe it was a language thing and he/she used the word 'deport' in error, not knowing its connotations, and only meant to assure the original poster that they are not responsible to house the DH's offspring indefinitely if they pay for mother and child to return to the Philippines??
