I hired my helper 3 months ago. Previously she had completed a contract but deferred her leave home. She would like to take this deferred leave over Christmas. She will use cash from her last employer to pay her ticket back. Am I responsible to pay her return ticket to HK?
Also, I'm still a bit confused on annual leave and vacation leave. I understand at the end of a year she earns 7 days of paid vacation. Am I required to pay her for a ticket home at that time as well? I know too that at the end of the 2 year contract she is entitled to a vacation back in Philipines. I believe this is for 2 weeks and the ticket is my responsibility. Is that correct? Thanks in advance.

A DH is allowed paid 'anual leave' & depending on the time worked this varies.
A DH may or may not be entitled to paid 'vacation' leave at the end of her contract when she has to leave HK (unless she has permission to delay from Immigration she must leave at the end of her contract). The contract signed between DH & employer will show whether or not the vacation leave is paid as its negotiable not compulsory. You do not need to pay her over the Christmas period, if she is entitled to paid vacation leave (which is what it is all she did was delay the return home) she would have got the money from her last employer.
The employer must pay for flights at the start & end of the contract period (to HK, from HK) and if you renew her contract you may as well get a return ticket. In your case the last employer should have paid her ticket home so you will need to pay for her one-way ticket back from her Christmas break just as you would have had to have bought her ticket from home when she started with you if she was not in HK.
The DH can spend her annual leave anywhere she wishes but she (not the employer) is responsible for all costs associated with annual leave travel - she could of course stay in her room in your place the whole annual leave period.
