Hello,

Does anyone know what the usual procedure is for terminated/released helpers? I noticed that many of the helpers on the website have been terminated/released due to various reasons but is it always the case that they would have to go back to the Philippines and wait for the visa there? How long does that usually take?

If terminated (rather than released due to reasons like employer death, employer leaving HK, financial problems, etc...) Currently the wait is 6-8 weeks, as they have recently introduced a new regulation in the Philipines which means it now takes longer than it used to. I have even heard more than 8 weeks in some cases.
