Income proof for Expat to get a DH

ORIGINAL POST

I contacted a Domestic helper agency about the requirement of getting a DH. The lady told me that we have to provide either 3-month income proof or a fixed deposit of at least HK$350,000. As my husband will be relocated to HK in May, we can only provide income proof issued in Australia. Apart from opening a fixed depsoit account, is there any alternatives that we can get a DH without waiting for 3-month income proof in HK? Any agency have good experience in helping expat to get DH?

As we have a young baby, 14 months old, we are hoping to have a helper as soon as possible.

thanks for your help.

Hi, cat Ed. I do have experience helping expat of getting DH and help them for processing there document as well. And our charge is HK$2,500 from the employer and $340 from the maid. If you have any queries please call 2895 2233.

Another alternative according the income proof, ask your company letter mentioned the amount of your monthly household income or annual household income.

My husband's company wrote a letter stating his imcome and housing allowance. I did the paperwork with our helper (no agency) and had no problems getting the contract sorted.

Mahatta, @@ and Green,

Thanks so much for your advice.

I may consider to get a helper by myself rather than going through agency.

@@ and green, did you get your helper without going through agency? How did you get your helper? Any recommended resources to get a helper by myself?

I have generally found helpers via word of mouth, otherwise you can look on this website.

Hi @@ and Green,

thanks so much.

It sounds that we cannot really do anything until we are in HK. We are hoping we'll be luckly enough to join in the expat community and get recommendations from them.

btw, if you may know any good helpers looking for new employer. could you please PM me? Thanks again.

Hi Green,

I totally agree with you and I would like to get a helper via word of mouth. However, I have to get to know someone and then get recommendation from them.

Actually, we'll be in HK on 21 April. We'll stay in service apartment for 1-2 months. During this period, we'll search for a standard apartment in Happy Valley or Mid Level. We are hoping our stuff should have been arrived in HK by the time we find a standard apartment. I think I don't really need a helper until June. If you know any good helpers who will be available in mid of June, it would be great. I really need recommendation and then I can meet her face to face. thanks for your help.

Hi I have a person who i would reccomend she is out here currently looking for work. She is the niece of our friends helper. We are hiring her cousin. I have met the niece and she has looked after my 8 month old daughter for a couple of days also and everything has worked out great. this will be her first contract so the timing could work. She will need to go back to Phillipines and then there is the standard 6 week waiting period for the visa. Let me know if you are interested.
