A couple of the helpers I have interviewed recently said that they cannot start until the middle of June as that is when their employer's are relocating. I am a bit worried that they might continue to do interviews to look for something better in the meantime (even if they sign a contract now) or simply change their minds.
Has anyone had any problems with hiring a helper that won't start for 6 weeks? i.e. they sign a contract, but then change their mind?
Do I have any retribution if the helper changes her mind after signing the contract?
Thanks for your comments.

Have had long waiting period with two helpers and it wasn't a problem at all.

I waited 4 months for my current helper (previous employer also relocated)and had the same concerns as you, but it all turned out to be fine. I think that she was also worried that I would give up waiting and employ someone else. I guess it just made me appreciate her all the more once she started.
