Thanks.

Hi fluffy23,

I've done this myself and all you have to do is write a letter to immigration explaining your situation and hand deliver to the immigration officer at counter 23 on the 6th floor, I believe, and explain to him your situation. If the immigration officer staples a red sticker labelled "Urgent", it usually takes 2-3 weeks to process. Make sure to put your helpers VCA # on the letter.

Good luck!

Hi thanks for your information.

I still dont have the VCA number they have told me i should get this by thursday the 10th. Are you saying it will still take another 2 to 3 weeks after that even stating the urgency?? Thanks in advance.

With my current maid, I had to wait 3 weeks from the issuance of the VCA no to the visa approval despite hand delivering an urgent letter, 2 follow up calls and a fax.

Thanks for that information. I really am going to be keeping my fingers crossed it doesnt take that long. I am working just down from immigration so might take the approach of going in everyday also. My daughter is also teething so maybe when she is in one of her screaming fits i will take her as well to see if it helps - haha!

If anyone else has any other recommendations i would appreciate it.

and even with all this... and two follow up letters... we are still waiting! Over 6 weeks now...

Hi crj

So is the 6 weeks from the submission to HK immigration?? It seems you have waited longer than two weeks also to get your VCA# is this also correct? It is so crazy and everyone seems to have had a different timeframe to turn around their visa application. What have immigration told you at the moment??

My agent submitted my DH application on 19th April and I received VCA # last Tuesday (8th), with application approved yesterday (17th), so perhaps your turn is soon. I did have an urgent request as well.

Good luck

Just FYI... as per above thread, we tried to fast track, wrote supporting letters (Three in Total), called, etc...

She is finally coming next week, it has been EIGHT OR NINE WEEKS...

I hope mine is like yours maree123 but it is looking more like crj. I received the VCA number on Thursday 10th. I went to immigration again today and got told to fill in a form to find out the progress and that they would call me over the next few days to tell me progress. Crazy!! He couldnt guarantee they could call me today even though he had an urgent sticker on it. Fingers crossed i get that call this week with good news!!!

Thanks everyone for your advice it was approved on friday which was exactly the four weeks. The advice about actually going to immigration is true I dont think it would have been approved so quickly if I hadnt gone in personally this last week. Thanks.
