Hi I was just about to book tix for my helper at Cebu Pacific's online site, however, it asks that if booking for a third party, that the third party bring a photocopy of the front of the credit card when checking in. I feel uncomfortable doing this- am I being paranoid?

hi kilwinning! maybe you should call their office in TST (2722-1499) and ask if this is their procedure.

It's true. Same with Cathay Pacific. Any credit booking over the phone or online... when picking up the ticket, they require to SEE the credit card. It only make sense, it is to protect the credit cardholder AND the airline that the credit card is a valid one.
I think a COPY is good policy.... Cathay Pacific said they want to see the ACTUAL credit card.....
If you make a photocopy of the credit card's front and back and then write with a pen on the corner COPY.... there's no harm in that.
Just ask your helper to rip up the photocopy when they finish seeing it.
I think all around HK, all these business or application forms that always take our HKID card for copy is WORSE. I always feel it's invading my personal privacy!
