I am looking for a native Mandarin speaking helper. I have found only a few Indonesian helpers who can speak a little Mandarin, but I would need someone who is fluent, it doesn't even matter if she cannot speak good English, altough some basic English would be great.

I have three sons and I cannot help them too much in Mandarin. Please advise if you know a good agency which deals with such helpers. I couldn't find any yet. It is a wonder for me why can't I find a Mandarin speaking helper when we are so close to Mainland China with so many people looking for work, is it because of some visa regulations I am not familiar with or sg else?? Anyway please advise if you can or recommend me someone please (I am aware of that there is the domestic help ad site but I cannot find any, not even 1 single Mandarin speaking helper...

People from the mainland are not able to get DH visas. If you want a native Mandarin speaker to help your sons, you may be better off getting a mainlander with HK residency to do this part-time (or paying a tutor) and a full-time DH from someplace else.

thnx for your advice hkkm! I'll try to find someone part-time. It is not about tutoring especially, because my eldest son will go to a Mandarin school (so he would learn Mandarin there), but it is mainly about having someone native speaker, I prefer having a Mandarin speaking or Cantonese speaking helper (even for more money) to having a Philippina who speaks quite let's say 'acceptable' level of English. We are not native English therefore I do not really want my kids to learn English from a Phillipina - not talking about her vocabulary and how 'actively' she talks to the kids. It is not against Phillipinas these are just facts of life.

If anyone could recommend me an agency, which deals with mainlanders with HK residency, or any other solutions??? I couldn't find any yet.

There is a government training scheme for local helpers (ie HK residents), and they may have some who are Mandarin-speaking. The relevant section of the government web site is:

http://ldh.erb.org/employer_recuit.htm

but it's in Chinese only.
