Cheapest calls to Philippines?

Hello, does anyone know what the cheapest way to call philippines? Our helper asked for landline (I know there has been a discussion on the landlines before) - would it really be the cheapest way? She is talking about some set up where she pays $390 dollars a month and it is unlimited calls to Philippines - does this make sense to anyone?

its better if u use the cards like the PCCW 3pcs of PCCW is 125hkdollars only,one card is 45minutes.

Just be careful that your helper doesn't register your number with telephone companies without your knowledge.


Our last helper did this without our permission and we are still receiving reminder calls about overdue accounts.

If you have a computer Skype-out only costs HK$1.50 to a Philippines landline.

You would have to buy the Skype credits with your credit card, and let her use your computer when she calls home, but how much would she use?

My maid pays HK$390.00 a month unlimited calls to the Philippines (to one number only). She only calls one number anyway (her family's number) so this is a much cheaper option for her. I see the bill so it's true.
