Hello,
I an interested in hiring a daytime driver to drivwe my husband to work, my children and myself to the parks beaches etc my helpoer to the grocery store and to walk my dogs on occassion. Are there certain rules that i need to know about if i hire and sponser someone - ie thai, phil. etc or is it just easier to hire someone locally to do the job.

You would certainly need to hire someone for this particular task, you cannot employ a FDH to do this as the rules, even when they have been given permission to drive, do not allow duties such as driving their employer to work.

You should hire a local driver. I think the labour dept has a service that assists

you can hire a FDH to do driving (kids but not employers) but they have to live in and you have to get special permission.
