my helper finished her 2 year contract & introduced her sister for another 2 year which was ok for us. She found another employer and signed the contract for 2 years - this was six months ago. At the time of finishing, she ask me to give her cash instead of flight ticket which I did. Now she has come back telling me that she is leaving HK terminating contract with her new employer and that I should pay her the flight ticket which I of-course I don't think I am entitled to. Does anyone know after the contract is finished, is there anything else that we are obligated to.

Did you put it down in writing, that you paid her cash instead of the flight ticket when she finished contract with you ?
If you paid her annual leave, and all her salary, and you don't owe her any miscellaneos expenses, just the air ticket home (or equivalent value of $ 1000hkd) is all I know about.
If you got it down in writing, then you tell her, remember you signed this letter with me indicating the cash I paid you was for the ticket. Use the money now... (of course she probably spent it already on something else....) but no, you don't have to pay for her ticket home! Her new employer has to give her a ticket home too anyways!

actually if she has signed a new contract with another employer and has been working for that employer then the new employer (the one terminating the contract) should pay the airfare home.
