I have recently interviewed a DH that terminated het contract and is now back in the Philippines. I really liked her a lot (I need a nurse for severly allergic child). I thought it would take 6 weeks to have her come back. But my current helper told me it takes 3 months because we didn't sign a contract here in HK. And that we have to go through an agency now. Is that true??

Thanks for your reply! I just read about the new rule, it really is ridiculous....Who would want to hire directly from the Philippines now?! The agencies fare better with this new rule and they will charge the helpers more because they have a monopoly. Sad.....

The helper I was talking about terminated her contract after 1 month with a Chinese family. She got treated really bad so I see why she left. Do you think this might make the process slower?
