Hi,
I finally found a helper to hire, terminated one, she's still here for 10 more days.
Anyone had experienced on how easy/hard to do the legwork? can she do the processing in consulate while she's still here, and hopefully to submit to immigration too. Then i can pick up her visa and courier to Philippines.
Is this possible? Thanks, we don't want to go thru an agency as she already owed around P80k pesos with her first agency but unfortunately terminated after 4 days.

Yes, all is possible. We did some of the legwork and so did our new helper. Then once the visa was ready, we just couried her the visa and a one way open air ticket.

Just been through this - If your new helper has 'resigned' from her previous job then its a bit more complicated. The Phil consulate will not accept her or immigration processing the stuff. I went to the consulate on Sunday to start the ball rolling - arrived at 9.15am queued for 1/2 hour and was then told the 'window' was closed and to come back the next day. I hastily went to an agency and was glad I did as was missing some of the stuff needed. If you have time to make about 3 visits to the Consulate and a couple to immigration then its ok but I live in DB and have 2 young kids so not practical. If however, your new helper has either 'finished' her contract or been terminated due to 'employer moving out of country' or 'financial reasons' its relatively straightforward for them to do all the leg work on your behalf. Resigning seems to be a major blackmark so my helper has just returned to the Phils this week and I was told 8 weeks to process from the Agency.........but I gave her my word I would wait and so I have - bloody ages as her previous employer made her work her months notice and now another 2 months for the processing - the joys.
