I am moving to HK early May. Can I start to hire a DH from now on. Heard it takes about two months to go through the whole process and I would like to have one as soon as possible. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you will need you HK ID before you can officially hire someone. I suppose you can start to interview, but you won't be able to sign a contract until you have your HKID.

Indeed. You need your HKID.

My advice is to start the hiring process the week you arrive. It normally takes 1-2 months before you can move into an apartment anyway and legally you need somewhere for her to live.

There are plenty of helpers who have just finished their contracts available. This cuts down on the lead time from 2 months down to about 1. If you PM me I can get you the number of a good agency.
