Medical Check Up Quesion

I signed a contract for a DH through a local employment agency. I specifically asked for a medical check up to be done given that this person will be responsible for our aily dfood preparation. I am concerned about such things as TB, hepatitis, etc. especially because we have a 2 year old child that was a premie. The agency told me that I had to sign the contract on the spot otherwise I would not be able to hire this person and that they would do the medical check up later. When I later asked for the results, they told me that they would only give them to me once the visa was granted. Now that I have had time to think on the matter I am concerned that at that point it's going to be impossible to terminate the contract even if she has some disease. Does anyone know what the legal status? can an employer ask for the medical tests prior to receiving the visa? can an employer terminate a DH if he/she has an illness such as TB or hepatitis? or is the employment contract conditional on the DN passing the medical check up tests?


On a different note, can an employer request a DH to go for a medical check up and be granted access to the results of the tests? I am not sure if there is a privacy law here in HKG

I was introduced to use the service of http://www.igoodlink.com/Med_check-up.htm. Everything went smoothly. In regard to access the medical report, as long as the maid is willing, there is no problem at all.
