I know there's another thread here at the moment about the levy being dropped from September but when I hired my helpe in January I paid the $2400 which was for 6 months and haven't heard anything since then. I should have been due to pay again in July but haven't received any bill. Do I get a bill or is it my responsibility to remember and pay? Any help appreciated.

It is your responsibility to pay, no bill is sent.

You do get helpful reminders if you are late though. ;)

Yes its your resposibility, and as the contract was before Aug 1st you have to pay the full 2 years.

Pay the full two years??? I don't understand, there's only 18 months of the contract left so why would I pay two years. I've already paid 6 months worth. How then do I go about paying without any form of bill. How do they know what my details etc are? When would I expect a reminder to come? Is there a fine if I don't pay? What about people who genuinely forget to pay? Sorry, that's a lot of questions...

Surprisingly, there's no bill sent out and no reminder. You just need to send a cheque in (can't remember the address) - on our first contract, we had naturally expected an invoice/reminder but didn't get anything until a rather nasty overdue notice (but now we know that that is just par for the course) just before the end of that 2 year contract! you only need to pay the next 6 months ($2400) unless you are cancelling the contract with the new levy laws. Just make sure you provide all the necessary details (contract number, details or yourself, helper) to make the cheque identifiable.

I meant you have to pay the 2 years including the installment you've already paid.

AngieC - you'll still have to pay to catch up with the levy you have not yet paid......
