Renewing contract to avoid levy payment

ORIGINAL POST

I was away when the levy for dh was cancelled and am unsure about the procedures. I've been told that I can end and renew my helper's contract in order not to pay the levy balance that is due (I still have 2 payments to do).

Could someone please confirm this info? Also, could anyone please advise how I should proceed to end and renew the contract? What reasons should I state for termination?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can cancel the contract and renew. Have your helper go to Immigration and pick up the new paperwork, it will include the additional paperwork you need to fill in regarding the Advance Renewal. I had my helper do it all and it really wasn't difficult at all.

I also had my helper go directly to the Philippine Consulate to speak to someone about exactly what is required and they gave her a booklet with all the information in it.

This link starting at Question #48 and following will answer most of your questions.

The hardest thing about this process is the length of time you wait in line at IMD to get the visa. Expect your DH to spend the day of maybe 6 hours or longer.

have done it with my helper and it was no problem at all. Just gave old contract and signed new one. I used an agency to do this, and it took them 3 weeks and Ask Marvi at 25325806 (reception)
