My new maid is just about to arrive in HK and have been worrying about having a 3rd person in the house. Eventhought I have a maid quarter in the house but is worry about privacy issue.
So, I have been thinking of letting the maid get used to her new surrounding by living with us first and then look to move her outside. Anyone in similiar arrangement currently? I live in Sai Kung - if you could put me in touch with other maid in similiar arrangement that would be very useful.
Thanks in advance.

Living out is illegal for Foreign Domestic Helpers so it is not really an option.
As for the privacy thing, it is true that some privacy is lost, but that is the price one must pay. A good helper knows how to be discreet. It should not feel as if she is intruding. Ours is great that way. She can chat for hours if we come into her domain (the kitchen) but she will never "seek us out". She has this way of fading into the background.

Our previous helper lived in with us for 3 months, and then we put her up in a boarding house. Yes, it is illegal, but many do it.

In my opinion, putting your DH in a boarding house is asking for her to be tempted to all sorts of things, these boarding houses are also targets for loan sharks. They have ongoing card games, the girls get into debt, there is drinking and also no way to lock up personal possessions and keep them safe. The conditions are crowded and she will be subjected to any sicknesses others have. Every time my DH was out for public holidays and stayed with her friends in these places she came home sick.
I suggest that you just ask her to stay in her room after xxxpm or whatever, and save yourself the hassle of travelling back and forth. Give her a TV in her room/or allow her to listen to music and believe me, she will be fine.
