I believe that I read one hot thread, which involved lots of reply. Any reasons why no longer here? It was about If You have maid.... and so on..

Yes, I'm searching for it also. It was called "Please read, if you have a maid". I can't find it either.
Well, we sure learnt some lessons today from this thread, so many informations I get personally which is good.. I don't know if we can chat on PM in asiaxpat.
Maybe tomorrow Mr.Ed will posting a reply why the thread no longer here...

Please read if you have a maid was removed - we do not allow racist discussions on this site
Ok, that's fair enough. Thank you for the explanation Mr.Ed.
Take care..

I don't think it was a racist thread. Everytime there's a thread which gets a lot of views or gets people ' discussing' you either remove it or move it to an obscure place.

We seldom remove threads - particularly the very popular ones. However if they take an unacceptable (usually racist or where the degrade into name calling) we will remove them.
As for moving them we move threads to the appropriate forum when they are posted (if they are in the wrong section). We do replace the popular threads on the home page regularly so that a thread you are following does not appear there - it would still appear in the forum though - there is an rss option on all threads to allow you to follow them.

I will agree that the rules are rather draconian. But I guess those are the rules, so...

Racist comments will not be tolerated - not sure how that policy would be considered draconian...
i am also confused as to why that thread was considered racist. i can see how it might have been removed for being pointless and rather wierd but it didn't strike me as being any more racist than other threads on this forum.
From memory, it started with someone saying people with FDHs should appreciate them and she/he personally felt very sad seeing the helpers congregating in central. it then morphed into a rather peculiar discussion about the ulterior motives (or not) of some FHds to find husbands, have affairs and indulge in prostitution - mostly in response to one poster's personal story.
i don't recall there being any racist comments (and if there were, isn't the usual practice to delete those comments and ban that poster - rather than remove the whole thread?)
I can see why you might want to delete the thread (for being a pointless, meandering discussion) but to do so on the ground of racism is confusing - FDHs aren't a race.
