Hi,
I would like to pay our helpers a Xmas bonus. I mentioned this to a friend the other day and she advised that we're better to give a present at Xmas and a bonus at CNY. *Last year we gave a bonus at Xmas, on their birthdays and when they went home for their holidays. We never gave them a bonus for CNY.
I'd just like to guage if there was 1) an expected amount for a bonus - we pay 1 months salary at Xmas and 2) Xmas vs. CNY.
Thank you for your guidance in advance.

yes - we do the same 1 month salary at Xmas - I asked whether they wanted it at xmas or cny - they said xmas - as they go back home around that time -makes much more sense. It is up to you really...

OK - I will go with Xmas. I'll feel more festive paying the bonuses then too :)

Thanks Peggie Wong.
Both DH's are from the Philippines, so I will pay them their months bonus at Xmas and a token at CNY.
Also, have a couple of presents as well for them - that are from my baby girl.
*I need to get this all organised now as I am nearly 8 months pregnant and want to make sure everything is taken care of for Xmas.

I think it depends on the helper. I would love to give a bonus if my helper's really good towards my kids. I hope the new one coming this Sunday is good and if she is, I don't mind giving her a bonus :)
