I have a Filipino helper who joined us from September and while joining she had informed that she would like to go on leave for 2 weeks during Christmas to visit Philippines. I have a few questions:
- Do I need to pay her two way air fare? One school of thought says that I need to pay only one way because technically she would have been paid one way by her former employer (I am not sure if she really got this when her earlier contract terminated). The other school of thought says that since I recruited her locally in HK, I need to pay the two way fare.
- Normally a DH is entitled to 7 days leave after 2 years of work and what I am informed is even after two years when a helper goes home for holiday one needs to pay only one way fare.
- During the days she would be on leave I am supposed to pay her for Sundays and public holidays but need not pay her for the other days.
