TV for DH - how can we do it?

We have promised our DH a TV. We were just about to get her a small 2nd hand one for her room but then she said there would be no room for it, and she is right. She does really want one however.

Her room is unfortunately tiny, all under her bed is storage with no desk. She has some shelves but they are plastic and narrow and a folding table that is mostly kept down. How do other people give their DH's a TV? Can you get a small wall mount for anything other than LCD/Plasma TV's? If so where from? It is starting to look like our DH will have a new LCD TV on her wall, which is better than we have!

Secondly, how does it work? How can you get TV channels in HK when there is no aerial outlet in her room.

Please tell me what other people do here in this situation. We have only recently hired our first helper.

Thanks.

Buy her a small portable dvd player with screen, for watching movies. There's nothing really on the local channels to watch anyway.

How does she receive them in her room? I think ours would too as she likes to watch some TV when we go out sometimes.

Thanks for your replies.

Agreed with the above. Get a small LCD and wall mount it.

Call PCCW or applicable cable company. They'll figure it out. But of course you'll have to pay.

An alternative to TV is a laptop. A cheap second hand one which she can use to surf and chat with her family. Get her a webcam and she can also videoconference said family. Happy helper.

A portable DVD / TV player can be purchased for about $1,200 & will be quite adequate i think.

hang it from the ceiling! there are contraptions attached to the ceiling (i saw one in ikea) that would hold a small tv. as like in some hospitals etc

no need to put it up on the ceiling really - easy enough to put it on the wall - on the ceiling she might end up really doing her neck in - looking up all the time

We fixed our helpers TV (flat screen lcd) on the wall at the foot of her bed, she has an indoor aerial and can get 3 stations, but the picture is slighly grainy, however, she can attach recorder to TV and watch videos
