I would like to asko is it really a must to give a release letter to your helper? What will I say in the letter, I don't have any good things to say about her.

yes!!! everything in writing.


the last thing you want to happen is for them to come back to you accusing of some sad, sorry tale of abuse and being let go without notice!!!


keep it simple, brief and business like


it is not a letter of recommendation, it is just a letter saying you are releasing her.


do a search on this forum. green valleys has suggested a letter below

was employed by me as a domestic helper from . The employment was terminated early due to my leaving Hong Kong.

most importantly, a release letter is evidence that she was released in good order and that it was a clean release.


make her counter sign the release letter, and if possible have a non-family witness and sign too
