If a Dh's passport expires while you are employing her, who is responsible to pay for renewal?

I would not think it will be the employer's responsiblity. Please tell me it is not....

The passport is the helper's personal property. It's her responsibility to pay for its renewal.

It is but 2 things.
1. A PH passport is dirt cheap
2. In business if an employees passport gets filled because of travel most companies cover the cost.
I'd personally pay myself.

Never heard of an employer paying for a Passport renewal.
Yes, it is the Helper's responsibility

Must just be me then! 3 of my previous employers used to pay for my passport renewals. They wanted me to use passport, then they pay, simple as that. Maybe I was just better at bargaining my position that most other people.
As an employer I also pay for passports for those who travel frequently, particularly to China.

I'm an expat in HK and I know for a fact my employer wouldn't (and didn't) pay for my passport when it expired. The passport is her property and it's her responsibility to get it renewed. My helper renewed her own passport when she went back to the Phils for her annual leave.

I have only seen businesses I've worked for pay for visas (eg: 1 year China visa if you need to travel there for work a lot) never passports. Evildeeds - you're onto a good thing!

Its her responsilbility.. My husband has to fly a lot for work, so his 10 year passport lasts 2-3 years, his employers will not pay for renewal.
