currently engaged with an agent who offers us with Filipinos in Hong Kong on tourist visa. Once contract is signed, the helper will go to Macau for one and half month before she can start working with us. Is this legal and will this present any problem in the future?

Perfectly legal and very common. The helper will leave while her visa is processed and come back once it is ready.

agree with axptguy, and also cheaper for the helper because she doesn't need to fly from manila to Hk..

Hi. I just signed the contract with my new helper. (22nd Oct). Problem is she overstayed. (we overlooked). So she exits to Macau for a night. Came back the following morning & had a tourist visa valid for 14 days. (expiry on 6th Nov)

I have sent letter to the immigration to speed up our process as we have just adopted a baby girl in HK. They replied it will take 2-3 weeks instead of the normal 6-8 weeks.

Question 1: If employment visa is not ready before 6th Nov, does she/ can she exit to Macau again & get another tourist visa of 14 days on the ways back?

Qn 2: If employment visa is ready before 6th Nov, does she still have to exit Macau or can she just go immigration tower & get the employment visa, & start work with me right away??

Thanks so much for any suggestions at all.
