One of my friend who has 3 daughters, 7 1.5 and 9mths old.

the one who is having a lot of phyiscial problems such as her thorat is too soft and she has sound in her cheast, a whole in the heart, she might not speak at all and will have to do an operation, she is blind in one eye and cannt see properly in another eye and might not hear (pending hearing test) and she just had hip operation twice and still in plaster which need to be put on for 3 months.

When her mother is working in the kitchen this baby falls off the bed (happned few times).

Her mother needs to take her to the hospital most of the time and the bus driver wont let her get on the bus bcoz she has 2 children and a baby chair which she always fold.

So can she get a full time free/ subsized domatic helper from the HK Gov.?

p.s. I have asked the Social wellfare and the social worker and they said they cann't do anything.

But she is reciving the CSSA ofcource

The friend's situation is quite difficult, but a free/subsidized domestic helper for somebody who receives CSSA (and living in government housing?) doesn't sound right.

I am sorry for your friends situation, it must be difficult for her, perhaps she could ask the social workers if there is a day care facilty (sort of respite care) that the handicapped chid could go to sometimes, maybe once or twice a week, to give their mother a little rest to cope with her other two children, I don't know whether such a facilty exists in Hong Kong though.

Feel sorry for your friend, sounds like the throat is called laryngomalaysia which my boy had (hes3 now)the noise is from the nose it sounds like its from the chest. The windpipe is not formed properly and developes later ,no surgery will fix it only time.Sounds more wheezey when the weather is cold,I got dehuidifiers both hot and cold to ease the problem. If you want them for your friend (free)drop me a message.

Will the hospital provide transport or a kind friend /family or neighbour help out?Or failing that a church or the Citizens Advice Bureau hope this helps

She needs to ask the hospital for some referral help for this family. They may not qualify for a DH in terms of income, but there may be some social services that will help.

There is another resources called Rehab bus that will help with transportation, but not sure of the terms.

I don't think the bus drives can refuse a disabled person to board the bus....this is discrimmination, but this is another problem apart from the child's obvious needs.
