Any way to make it happen?

We are moving to HK next month due to my husband’s job. First we will be staying in a serviced apartment until we find a permanent accommodation. We want to take our Filipino domestic helper / nanny with us. We lived in HK before so we already have HK ID cards but as far as I know we can not sponsor a DH without a permanent residential address (and even after that it takes 4-6 weeks for her visa application to be processed!).

We have 2 little ones. The time I’ll need our DH’s help most (to look after my kids) is during the time I go house-nursery hunting and also when our household shipment arrives (settling into the new place). I can not entrust my kids to someone I don’t know well. Is there any way we can get her to HK (to help us) before we have a permanent residential address? TIA

Why not let your husband come to HK, begin the application for your DH himself and you wait and come when the DH is approved?

For the proof of address you can use the serviced apartment contract showing the dates. You can call the Immigration Dept and ask them if that is acceptable, they may ask for further proof, but I'll bet they'll accept it

It will take 2 months to process your contracts, so no matter what you will be short by one month. Use an agency to start the application immediately.
