Hi - has anyone taken their domestic helper with them on vacation to France? We are planning to this summer but on first glance, the visa process for her to stay in France, even for a week, seems to be an absolute nightmare - much more complicated than for other countries. Does anyone have any advice or experience on this matter?

Those threads will give you more insight. I am not sure it will give much help though because it looks to be, as you say, an absolute nightmare.

It's best to contact the specific Consulate directly. I got 2 lists (from 2 different EU consulates) about everything you need. Although they're both Schengen, one country asks for more than the other.
