Hi all,
We are hiring a new helper who has been terminated by her current employers. She thinks she has to use an agency to process her paper work (contract & visa application etc) - does anyone know if this is necessary? Our last helper just did all the paperwork herself, but she was at the end of her contract so it was a little more straight forward as she didn't have to leave the country. The agency fees are over $3,000 which seems a little ridiculous to me.
A friend of mine also hired a terminated helper and said she went to immigration with her for the same reason (didn't want to use agency) but immigration wouldn't allow her to submit certain form as only agencies are allowed to do it. I just wondered if anyone else had had the same experience?
If this is the case, then surely it's a blatant scam??!
Thanks.

Since she was terminated you must use an agency. In your previous case where she ended her contract and was in country you need not.
No scam per se as these are government regs.

If she is Indonesian you definitely will need an agency

Renewed with new employer OR finished contract with previous employer "normally".
