I seem to have seen some conflicting information so just wanted to double check.
I am about to dismiss my helper of 3 months as she is just not really working out.
We plan to give her notice on Sept 30th terminating her also on Sept 30th with 1 month salary.
We will give her the 1 month salary, 200HK for transportation and a ticket back to her home.
I understand she has 2 weeks to remain here in HKG before she must leave. Is this 2 weeks from Sept 30th or October 30th? I ask as I want to purchase a fixed return ticket for her.
Advice etc?

Termination date is Sept. 30th as you are providing one month salary in lieu of notice, therefore the 2 week period is from Sept 30th. The ticket you provide is one-way. You could buy a fixed date up to Oct 14th, but it is up to helper whether or not it is used. Be sure to document, with 3rd party witness is best, monies paid and termination letter. File with Immigration within 7 days. best wishes
